notes from this series:
The feeling when you know you’re shedding an old identity,
a past self, making way for a new one, with lots of intense growing pains in between.
You find yourself hopping back and forth, the past self still fighting for presence, while the new one is emerging, steadier, using more shoulder, and ultimately going to win the arm wrestle.
Janus is the ancient Roman two-faced god of thresholds, the tension between past traumas and future possibility, of free will and fate, holding both at once.
Holding both selves at once.
