The 'Masculine/Feminine' group exhibition opened on Friday March 6th at the Grand Bohemian Gallery in Charleston. Thank you to everyone who stopped in to scope the new work and say hi, and thank you to my dedicated collectors who snagged a piece right away!
The exhibition runs through April 2020.

I created a custom painting for Kim last year, and since then, she's had the painting embroidered on the silk inside lining of her jacket!

a bit about the work:
I'm taking history's most classic subject, the human form, and attempting to deconstruct it. I realize I'm telling my own stories on the faces of strangers, relating to both the masculine AND feminine.
Layers reveal so much more than what's on the surface, and in our modern everyday life, the surface is often deliberately crafted with painful precision to appear flawless.
But the story is lost, one becomes another face in the crowd, just an 'other'.
This categorization of 'otherness' makes it frighteningly simple for us to overlook eachother, cast judgment, make conclusions, move on, and leave ourselves a bit more alone.
A high-functioning introvert through and through, I'm bored to death of pleasantries and small talk.
I'm interested in where your facade is cracking. I want to know what you're made of.
